About Tim

The framework for Tim Jesaitis' law practice actually began in his undergraduate days - an English major (B.A.) and a graduate degree in English Education (M.A.), both from the University of South Florida (USF). During those years, Tim taught English Composition and Literature at USF as well as Admiral Farragut Academy (St. Petersburg). Consequently, the hallmark of Tim's legal career is through writing and teaching.

Tim Jesaitis

His practice of law began in 1991, after graduating from Stetson University College of Law (cum laude). For Tim's first six years as an attorney, he practiced law at Henderson Franklin (Fort Myers) under the amazing mentorship of Albert M. Frierson, Esq. (pretty much the man who wrote Chapter 440!). What heady days -- learning the practice of worker's compensation, traveling to Tallahassee for legislative sessions, and then being a principal drafter of the Florida Administrative Code after the 1994 session, reformatting all those rules and regulations (forms, forms, forms).

Tim's legal involvement continued to expand from just the court room. He wrote numerous articles for the Workers' Compensation Section as well as for the Florida Bar. He provided hundreds of educational seminars for his clients, for WCCP, for FWCI, and for the Bar. (He's probably best known as the "speaker with the sneakers.")

From 2004-2008, Tim served on the Executive Council for the Workers' Compensation Section. And, in 2012, he launched his web site (www.LALWT.com - "Lunch and Learn With Tim"), providing continuing education courses for Florida adjusters, attorneys, and mediators.

After becoming board certified in 1997, Tim moved back home to St. Petersburg to open his own defense practice. In 1998, Tim returned to the classroom at Stetson, this time on the other side of the desk as an adjunct professor teaching Florida's Workers' Compensation Law.

Beyond the practice of law, Tim keeps very busy with his family. His oldest daughter attends the University of Florida, and his youngest daughter attends Rollins College (Winter Park). He has been married to his wife Susie for over twenty-five years. He served on and Chaired the Lutheran Church of the Cross Day School Board (2004-2008), and now is an Elder for Cornerstone Bible Church (St. Petersburg).
